WanderLens
CHALLENGE
Enabling seamless use for professionals and amateurs
How do you design a platform that caters to users with varying levels of expertise in their craft? From a design standpoint, this was the project’s greatest challenge. A key insight emerged through interviews with a diverse range of photographers. This involved understanding what a beginner with little to no camera knowledge might look for, as well as what a professional photographer might need when already equipped with personal gear.
THE APPROACH
What does it look like to travel with a camera?
Context needed to be understood. This was accomplished through conducting user interviews, providing a great understanding on how people travel with their cameras and their relationship with photography in general.
Users want to minimize the hassle of carrying heavy, expensive photography gear while exploring new destinations. They’re looking for a solution that lets them capture high-quality photos of their trips without relying solely on their phones, making their journey lighter and stress-free.
Sketches
Various design options were explored and assessed, incorporating interactions that enable users to search for gear, update their rental reservations, and create gear lists for their travels.
